A VEHICLE hire specialist has announced an investment in to its motorhome fleet.

Abacus, based in Weyhill Road, Andover, and with a site in Ferndown, has announced a £850,000 investment to its motorhome hire fleet with 19 new vehicles being added to the rental fleet for 2018.

This is to replace existing models which are now more than two-years-old.

This is the12th year the company has been renting motorhomes, now seeing an increase in sales exceeding 10%.

Jon Clayton, manager of the Abacus motorhome division, said they would expect year on year growth due to ongoing interest in motorhome holidays in spring and summer.

Mr Clayton said: “The winter hire demand has seen a spike in Christmas bookings with the motorhomes being either used as an overflow for family accommodation or families seeking an alternative festive period in the UK and Europe.

”The new motorhome fleet arriving in March will include two, six-berth vehicles and from two major manufactures Bailey and Adria and take the fleet size to 50.”

Forward booking has already started for events including Goodwood Festival of Speed, Formula One, and other festivals proving that demand will continue in 2018.

Abacus say demand is also aided by poor currency exchange rates encouraging staycation based holidays.
