IF YOU thought buying presents during the festive period can be a tough shift, think about the journey the toys and gifts undertake to get onto the retailers’ shelves.
Staff at Import Services, the leading port-centric logistics company in the UK, operating from the Port of Southampton, have been working around the clock to make sure the shelves are stocked this Christmas
To illustrate the point, they have recently created an infographic showing the numbers involved.
In a 24 period, up to 180 staff will be working at any one time.
Thousands of labels will be printed and applied to ensure the correct merchandise reaches the right address.
