A WELL-known Winchester firm celebrated 25 years of business in the city in style.

Bang and Olufsen of Winchester in the Square, which is independently owned and run by local company MarsallSound, marked the occasion by organising a specially branded cake.

The major milestone comes on the back of another successful trading year, placing the business in the top five of all UK Bang and Olufsen stores, including those based in London.

Managing director John Marshall and his son James cut the cake in their Winchester showroom to mark the occasion.

Recently crowned Bang and Olufsen Franchise of the Year, John and James put the success down to several important factors.

James added: “We are often asked what the secret of our success? is It’s hard to put it down to one thing. We are a local, independent business selling a world-class brand – which helps.

“But it’s also the personal touch we offer, the first class service and the installer support that customers trust. We’ve been in this shop a long time so it’s also the familiarity that people like.”

Recently, MarshallSound has diversified its service and now offers full cinematic experience and integrated CCTV, door and gate entry systems, and mood lighting all controlled by one simple, easy to use remote control.

The company’s biggest contract last year was £300,000 for a full system throughout a local home, which included the latest BeoLab 90 loud speakers costing more than £50,000.
