A HAMPSHIRE firm is celebrating after two of their vessels were bought by a Brazilian subsea engineering company.

Segensworth firm Saab Seaeye have provided Oceanica with two new remotely operated Lynx vehicles which are extensively fitted with cameras and tools.

Able to reach a depth of 1,500 metres, each of the six thruster-strong Lynx will be used for Oceanica’s growing Petrobras activities in the Brazilian oil fields and join two Falcons which were also made by the Brunel Way company.

Head of ROV operations for Oceanica, Manoel Teixeira Lopes Filho, said: “I am really happy with the two Falcons we bought and believe the two Lynx will be equal in reliability and performance.”
