A WINCHESTER company which works to reduce power station emissions has appointed a new engineer.

Gerry Riley, who has worked in the fuels industry for 27 years, joins RJM International as the principal fuels and combustion engineer.

John Goldring, managing director of RJM International, based in Swan Lane, said: “Gerry combines real scientific knowledge based on sound research and development of the different combustion characteristics of various fuels, with a solid track record of successfully managing and implementing major new fuel change programmes at power stations in the UK and overseas.

“I am therefore really delighted that he is joining the team here at RJM to support some of the large projects we’re currently working on with global generators both here in the UK and overseas.”

Dr Riley said: “RJM has a fantastic reputation in the sector as a business that really does deliver results, whether ultra-low emissions, resolving complex efficiency issues or introducing biomass co-firing to conventional power plants, so I am very pleased to be joining the company at this exciting stage in its development.”
