A communications agency is in the running for two awards – thanks to a star of the biggest TV show in the world.

Winchester-based Remarkable Group has been shortlisted in the south of England and Channel Islands region section of the CIPR Pride Awards after enlisting the support of Jerome Flynn from Game of Thrones.

The actor is known for his role in the hit HBO series as well as Ripper Street, a BBC drama based on the infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper.

The company hired Jerome Flynn to promote the Global White Lions Protection Trust, which aims to save the rare white lions of South Africa. Remarkable is now up for the Best Not-For-Profit Campaign award.

Since signing up for the campaign Jerome Flynn has appeared on ITV’s Daybreak show, written a blog for The Guardian and helped recruit hundreds of people to the protest held in London, where he was a keynote speaker.

The company is also in the running for the Best Technology Campaign for its Can You Find It? operation. This came after Remarkable Group was brought in by recruitment specialists TMPW for a recruitment push for the Government’s intelligence and security organisation GCHQ .

This involved an online treasure hunt to attract mathematical, code-breaking and ethical hacking experts.

Over the campaign’s six weeks the recruitment website was viewed 371,269 times and is estimated to have reached a total circulation of 111.8 million thanks to news exposure.

The nominations followed the launch of the new Remarkable Content division, formed in a merger between the PR and digital divisions.

Stephen Pomeroy, chief executive of Remarkable Group, said: “The launch of Remarkable Content was a great success and a special moment for everyone at the company so it is great news to find out we’ve now been shortlisted for more awards.

“We’ve had some very encouraging feedback about the new division from current clients and potential new business. Being shortlisted for these awards shows how our all-round offering is being recognised for getting results.”
