BRAIN Chase Coles is the first firm in Basingstoke to be accredited by the Law Society’s Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS).

Lucy Watson, head of wills and probate, at the firm of solicitors based in Wote Street, said The Law Society has introduced a new accreditation standard for solicitors specialising in wills and probate work.

At the heart of the scheme is a high standard for delivering tailored wills and probate advice. In achieving accreditation, Brain Chase Coles underwent an application and assessment process to demonstrate their adoption of best practice procedures to meet the standard.

This benefits consumers by ensuring that they understand the issues in preparing a will or seeking probate advice, and are aware of the options, costs and timescales in order to make an informed choice from the outset.

Lucy said: “We are very proud to be the first firm in Basingstoke to be awarded the WIQS accreditation.

“My colleague Sarah Parker and I are also both Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) qualified and I am a full professional member of Solicitors for the Elderly. We are committed to providing high quality, personalised advice to our clients.”
