Bank staff paint centre
BANK staff swapped pens for paintbrushes when they undertook a decorating project at the Paterson Centre in Swanmore.
Staff from the Winchester branch of Barclays Bank, based in Jewry Street, Winchester, came to the rescue with a makeover of the old school room, just in time for the Hampshire Wedding Fair on Saturday April 12.
Six members of staff including Mickey Norris, the assistant manager, James Swann, business manager, Wendy Evans, mortgage specialist, Sarah Watson, Ceri Dixon and Chris Tatum, worked as a team to get the job done.
Mr Norris's son, Daniel, who was on his school holidays, was also drafted in, together with church warden John Sharpe, who was in charge of the scaffolding tower.
Sydney Dean, chairman of the Paterson Centre committee, said: "The old school room looks amazing and will be enjoyed by many people within our community. I am very grateful to the staff at Barclays for their effort and support. They did an outstanding job"
Lesley Ellis, manager of Barclays in Winchester said: "We believe that the expertise and skills of our employees, as well as our money, can make a huge difference to the communities we live and work in."
