THE job of keeping a Bishop’s Waltham play area in good condition has changed hands.
The playground in Blanchard Road was operated by Winchester City Council.
However, it has now been handed over to Bishop’s Waltham Parish Council on a 25-year lease.
City council cabinet members agreed the change at their meeting last Wednesday.
It comes after the city authority decided three months ago to close a separate play area in Bishop’s Waltham at Godfrey Pink Way.
It has also shut another one at Provene Gardens in Waltham Chase in recent weeks.
In both cases, it was because the play areas were not used much, the latest report to cabinet members said.
