12:56pm Monday 24th October 2011 in Bishop's Waltham
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a burglary near Bishop’s Waltham last week.
A property in Hole Lane, Curdridge was broken into between 11.45am and 12noon on Friday, October 21.
Two offenders tried to gain entry by smashing a window but were heard by one of the residents and ran off, turning towards Lockham’s Road. Nothing was stolen.
The first man was described as white, between 20-30-years-old, of broad build, 6ft tall wearing a dark grey top, light jeans, black boots and a dark cap.
The second man was also white and around the same age, but shorter with light brown hair and wearing dark clothing.
PC Craig Robinson of Winchester Priority Crime team is investigating and said: “We are looking for anyone who may have seen two men in the Curdridge area at the time of this break-in.
“We’d also like to remind residents to think about home security, particularly with winter drawing in. Ensure that you have adequate security lighting, that you don't answer the door to unannounced callers, and that your house is left locked and secured when you go out.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Winchester Priority Crime Team on 101 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
