4:40pm Wednesday 24th August 2011 in Bishop's Waltham
By Warwick Payne
FREE demonstrations in first aid will be taking place in Bishop’s Waltham on Sunday, September 18.
Running from 10am to 4pm in the High Street, it will be organised by St John Ambulance.
The charity is running a campaign called Save a Life September to equip as many people with first aid skills as possible.
The event in Bishop’s Waltham is one of several in Hampshire, with sessions in Portsmouth and Farnborough also planned.
St John Ambulance Hampshire chief executive George Ringrow said: “Learning first aid is one of the single most important things you can do in your life.
“You never know when you may need it – at work, at home, in school, playing sport – you just don’t know.
“With basic first aid skills, anyone can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved and what could be more important than saving someone’s life?”
Visit www.sja.org.uk/sals or call 01962 863366 to find out more about the campaign.
