Bishop's Waltham Parish Council drawing up design guidance for developers
BISHOP’S Waltham parish chiefs are set to write guidelines for developers on how new housing in the town should look and feel.
Cllr Robert Shields is leading efforts to create a ‘design statement’ advising firms on what local people want from new homes, from house sizes to road layout.
He said parish council advice would “fill in the gaps” in Winchester City Council’s own design briefs, which offer “nothing” for rural areas or greenfield sites.
The project is in its early stages but is expected to be finished by autumn.
