BISHOP’S Waltham chef Sven-Hanson Britt has made it to the final of MasterChef which will be aired tomorrow.

The three finalists will go head-to-head one last time on Tuesday night to make a winning three course meal before one of them is crowned Masterchef champion 2014.

Previous champions have gone on to work at some of the world’s top restaurants and this year 2012 joint winner Anton Piotrowski became the first contestant to be awarded his own Michelin star.

Mr Britt said: “The thing that drives me the most is the potential of the legacy we can leave our future generations. As chefs we are in a prime position to change, for the better, the food production systems that are in place and are outdated and unethical/unsustainable.

“I want to change the way we think of food so that it has a positive impact on us and the environment. My ambition is to do that whilst having a restaurant that portrays these core values.”

His girlfriend, Charlotte Allery, said: “I am immensely proud of Sven. Personally I have found it very tough to watch and so nerve-racking, but I think he has done amazingly well and cooked some fantastic dishes. I wish he would make some of them at home now!”

The final is at 8pm tomorrow on BBC TWO.
