A CHEF from Bishop’s Waltham will battle it out with four other contestants at the Masterchef: The Professionals final.

On Wednesday, December 17, Sven-Hanson Britt features as one of five finalists ready to cook up a storm for two-Michelin star Marcus Wareing, chef Monica Galetti and Masterchef’s own Gregg Wallace.

Last Thursday (Dec 4) saw Mr Britt prepare a main course of squab pigeon with salt baked turnips, lovage, smokey oats, and a dessert of Paris Brest, beating Scot Paterson for a place in the final week.

He was one of eight contestants automatically pushed through to the semis during a cook-off last Tuesday (Dec 2).

The 26-year-old former Swanmore Technology College student started catering at Banks Bar Bistro in Bishop's Waltham. He also studied at Swanmore Technology College and trained at Bournemouth College before and is now working as a sous-chef at the highly-acclaimed The Ritz in London.

Mr Britt’s work kicks-off at 8pm on BBC Two.
