BISHOP’S Waltham parish chiefs are recruiting a team of volunteers to distribute leaflets because important notices are being thrown away.

The parish council is looking to enlist around 30 ‘street agents’ to deliver fliers to 3,000 houses around the town.

Barry Nicholson, planning committee chairman, said important notices including details of community events and changes to street lighting were being thrown away as part of “what could be called junk mail”.
