A FESTIVAL celebrating the best of chamber music is coming to Shedfield, Wickham and Bishop’s Waltham next month.

The festival, Founded by Ulrikke Henninen and long-time Shedfield resident Edward Daniel, kicks off on October 25 with Grieg’s Andante con Moto, Franck’s Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Minor and Dvorak’s ‘Dumky’, or Piano Trio in E Minor.

String quartets from Beethoven and Brahms are on the programme for St Nicholas Church in Wickham on Friday, October 31 at 7pm.

On November 1 the festival comes to Bishop’s Waltham with Beethoven’s Piano Trio in B Flat Major and Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E Flat Major.

Musicians will meet the audience ahead of their final performance at a special ‘coffee concert’ on November 2 in Spencer Place, Sandy Lane, Shedfield. They will discuss and introduce their pieces, including Beethoven’s String Quartet in C Minor, from 11.30am.

Entry for each performance costs £10 for adults and £6 for children, with tickets available on the door or at spencermusicfestival.co.uk.
