POLICE today appealed for witnesses after three men fled the scene of a burglary in Bishop’s Waltham.

The gang are thought to have committed four raids on the same day in the Meon Valley last week.

The incident occurred between midday and 2.55pm on Thursday, June 19 at a house on Dundridge Lane.

A silver Ford Focus was spotted parked nearby and three men were seen to flee empty handed and drive away.

They are described as white men. The driver was five feet eight-nine inches tall and of average build. He had short dark hair and was aged between 20-30. He was wearing a light-coloured jacket and had a local accent.

On the same day three other burglaries occurred in the area. These are being linked.

Between 8.45am and 5pm a house on Curdridge Lane, Waltham Chase, was targeted.

Two watches were stolen, an Oris Diverdate with a black face and a Tissot with a blue face and blue leather strap.

Entry was also forced into homes on Webbs Green and Long Road in Soberton. Jewellery was stolen from one and nothing from the other.

Det Sgt Marcus Baker, from Winchester police station, said: “We are treating these four offences as linked due to the proximity of the addresses.”
