A CEMETERY in Bishop’s Waltham has secured a grant of £2,000.
The money will help towards the running of the West Hoe Cemetery.
The site is the responsibility of West Hoe Cemetery Management Committee, a body with members from Bishop's Waltham and Swanmore Parish Councils.
At a meeting on Tuesday (Feb 11), Bishop’s Waltham Parish councillors voted unanimously to approve the cash.
The option of having new bathroom facilities installed was discussed at the meeting but no decision was made.
West Hoe Cemetery was established in 1982 when the churches of St Peter's, Bishop's Waltham, and St Barnabas, Swanmore, agreed their burial grounds were full. The two parish councils created a joint authority and purchased land between the two villages at West Hoe for a cemetery.
