BISHOP’S Waltham councillors praised their clerk as she scooped a prestigious award.
Lindsay Edge was named Clerk of the Year by the Hampshire Association of Local Councils at their AGM in October.
In nominating her, the parish council said: “From initial briefings of councillors to reprimands to errant individuals, she is the epitome of tact and persuasion.
“Her advice to the parish council and its committees is always excellent because she knows the rules and procedures and always thinks it through.”
The Kirk Shield, given annually to a clerk who has shown outstanding service, is in memory of the late Cllr David Kirk.
Mrs Edge’s efforts were recognised at a council meeting on Tuesday (NOV 12).
She said: “It’s a huge honour to receive this shield because I know a lot of the clerks who were on it before me and what they did.
“The 14 councillors here and the people I work with make it a joy – most days!”
