THE city council has been moved to take action over the “atrocious state” of some of the footpaths in Bishop’s Waltham.
Greens Close in particular has been the subject of numerous complaints by residents, a parish council meeting heard on Tuesday (October 8).
City Cllr David McLean said the paths have become overgrown and are not easily accessible by the elderly.
He said it was important they were properly maintained because of the sheltered housing for the elderly in the street.
“Residents are concerned about the state of the footpaths there – they’re in an atrocious state.
“We have arranged for them to be restored because Green Close is a premier facility for the elderly and should remain that way.”
