SUE Scurlock - a 64-year-old retired teacher and lecturer from Andover who was diagnosed with leukaemia and then breast cancer in 2004 - plans to run the London 10k in aid of Penny Brohn Cancer Care on 26 May.
Now on the road to recovery, Sue says that staff at Penny Brohn Cancer Care the staff helped her overcome her fears and look on the chemotherapy as a positive experience.
"They also taught me to take control of my situation," she said. "Doing the 10K run is one way I can say thank you' to all the staff at the charity."
Kirsty McLatchie, community and events fundraiser for the charity added: "We are delighted that Sue is running the 10k - it's incredible that even after all she's been through she is able to find the energy to raise money for us.
"The money Sue raises will enable us to continue providing complementary cancer care to those with cancer and their supporters. Good luck with the run, Sue."
