Bid to beat wine tasting world record

ANDOVER pub manager Paul Miller is calling on customers to take part in a world record wine tasting event at The John Russell Fox.

He is staging the event as part of the pub's 19-day wine festival, which runs from Wednesday 21 May until Sunday 8 June.

The John Russell Fox is one of 680 Wetherspoon pubs across the UK that is hosting the synchronised wine tasting in an attempt to create a new Guinness World Record.

The wine tasting will take place at the pub from 6pm on Wednesday 21 May, with customers offered a free glass of wine (50ml).

Mr Miller said: "This is a great opportunity for people to be part of a Guinness World Record attempt.

"All they have to do is come to the pub and enjoy a glass of wine at the same time as other customers in Wetherspoon pubs across the UK.

"The current world record stands at 5,100 tasters and I am confident that it can be beaten, with my customers playing their part."

During the festival, The John Russell Fox will be serving six new wines not previously available in the pub, which will complement up to 16 additional wines.
