Alresford Town Council spurns funding for disabled awareness

Alresford Town Council has rejected requests for a grant from Disability Awareness UK to help it stage awareness talks for children in local schools.

It also refused a request for £400 from town councillor Margot Power to part-fund a presentation by local architects Snug Projects on how The Dean could be developed.

Bids for £5,000 from the under-threat Alresford Youth Association and £1,000 from Winchester Citizens Advice Bureau for its outreach work in the town were deferred.
