11:22am Friday 2nd December 2011 in Alresford By Joseph Curtis
AN Alresford storage building is to be demolished to make way for a new shop in West Street.
The unit in Bakehouse Yard will be converted into a one-storey lock-up shop after the city council granted planning permission for the scheme.
Although Alresford Town Council supported the plan, several residents objected claiming the size of the shop was too large and it could create a noise disturbance through increased traffic.
But a council planning committee unanimously approved the proposal .
The intended use of the lock-up unit was to be a gun shop but the agents have now confirmed those plans have been abandoned and no specific use or tenant has been identified.
