PARISH councillors in Cheriton have had early notice of possible plans to start a second brewery in the village.
The South Downs Brewery may operate from Marriners Farm on Cheriton Road, the council heard.
Mr and Mrs Nell spoke of their business plan at a recent parish council. A planning application for change of use, if they decided to use these sheds, would be needed.
No extra buildings were needed. The shortest timescale for the business to be operational is three months.
No retail was expected for the site, the existing access would be used and the latest technology would be used to minimise noise and smell. A soak-away would be also installed too. Maximum output would be two brews per week.
Two local residents raised concerns on smell, noise, drainage and access, which were addressed.
The Flower Pots currently operates a brewery at its premises on Westfield Road.
