A THREE-year-old Hampshire girl was given a reason to smile after meeting her favourite TV character.

Alicia Rivers, from Alresford, was recently discharged from hospital where she was undergoing treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.

While in hospital the youngster missed going to her playgroup but was kept company by her favourite TV show, Peppa Pig.

With help from the Make-A-Wish charity, Alicia was collected from her home in a bright pink limo and taken to her playgroup at Alresford Methodist Church with her mum Julie Ann and dad Keith, where she met the TV character.

Alicia's mother, Julie Ann said: "It was Alicia's wish to meet Peppa Pig, and to see her so happy means everything to us. We have not had a day out as a family where we can relax and have fun for a long time and this means so much. Thank you Make-A-Wish and everyone at the playgroup for making my little girl so happy".

The charity grants wishes for children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.
