A POPULAR series of children's fun days begins at an Alresford heritage attraction this weekend.
Mid Hants Railway's 'Day out with Thomas' events kick-off a nine-day run this Saturday (August 9), allowing youngsters to experience the fun of travelling by steam train.
Children will be able to chug through the 10 miles of beautiful countryside between Alresford and Alton, being pulled along by characters from the Thomas the Tank Engine television series, including Henry the Green Engine and Daisy the Diesel Railcar.
There will also be free children's entertainment, face painting, a bouncy slide and a miniature railway.
Trains depart every 30-40 minutes and there is free parking at Ropley station. All-day travel tickets cost £15 for adults, £9 for children (aged 2-6) or a family ticket (two adults and two children) for £45.
To book, visit www.watercressline.co.uk or telephone 01962 733810.
