A HAMPSHIRE pub has been severely damaged by fire this morning.
An outbuilding at the Hen and Chicken Inn, Alton, caught ablaze in the earlier hours and crews have been battling to save it.
Pumps from Alton, Farnham, Rushmoor and Basingstoke stations attended the incident and the fire was put out just after 7.15am.
The initial call wall put in at 5am.
Firefighters are now dampening down the scene.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman confirmed the building’s roof was “100 per cent destroyed” by the blaze.
The building, on Ryebridge Lane, was used by the owners of the pub for storage.
