HAMPSHIRE MP George Hollingbery has echoed the Prime Minister over yesterday’s terrorist attack.

The MP for the Meon Valley said today: “Today Parliament is sitting and thousands of people will enter Westminster to visit, work and vote in our cradle of democracy.

“We do this not to be callous after what happened to those innocent people on Westminster Bridge or to be disrespectful to PC Keith Palmer, who died protecting Parliament, but to put into practice the Prime Minister's defiant words that attacks on us are indeed doomed to failure.

“I remain shocked about what has happened but also resolute it's business as usual; that it must change very little otherwise these people who wish us harm score a victory from this cowardly attack they do not deserve.

“My thoughts remain with those who have lost their family and friends. They were innocent people getting on with their lives or visiting our great capital to take pictures on Westminster Bridge. It is a tragedy they did not return to their loved ones last night.”

Mr Hollingbery added: “The police and security services now continue their investigation into what happened. They are doing a superb job in difficult circumstances. We must support them and do our best to continue our work always vigilant, but unbowed.”
