DISCUSSIONS are taking place over the best place for new development in Cheriton.
Mags Wylie, of the Hampshire Alliance of Rural Affordable Housing (HARAH), said a recent survey had shown support for a small development of social housing of around ten homes.
The parish council recently discussed the issue. One site has been identified but there may be flood issues.
Cllr Joanne Cheyney, of Middle Farm, pointed out that virtually every site in the village would have flooding or conservation issues.
HARAH recommend a small ten-house scheme if a suitable site can be found and the parish council is supportive.
