A YOUNG man who was seriously injured in a car crash near Alresford is still in a critical condition.

The crash happened on Bighton Road and involved a blue Renault Clio which left the carriageway and hit trees.

The car was carrying three men who were all taken to Southampton General Hospital.

A 23-year-old passenger suffered serious head injuries and his condition is described as life-threatening. Hampshire police have confirmed he is still in a 'critical' condition.

Police added that a 24-year-old passenger who suffered a back injury condition has improved. The23-year-old driver suffered minor injuries.

The accident happened close to Alresford Salads in Nythe Cottages on Friday morning at 12.30am.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the car shortly before the incident or who were in the area at the time to come forward.
