A PUBLIC meeting will be held in Alresford over the new local plan that would see 500 homes built in the town over the next 20 years.

The meeting on Wednesday November 18 will review the soundness criteria for the plan which was recently agreed by the city council.

It proposes that most of the new houses should go onto farmland off Sun Lane. Many residents especially those living near Sun Lane are angry about the decision and say the houses should be more widely spread.

The Local Plan Part 2 will be submitted to the Goverbnment by the city council in March.

It also proposes public open space and a relocation of industry from The Dean area to the fields off Sun Lane.

The meeting will be in the main Hall of the recreation Centre at 7.30pm.

Questions from the public must be submitted three days in advance of the meeting to the Town Council Offices at the ARC or by email to skavanagh@newalresfordtc.org.uk
