POLICE are investigating a suspected hit and run that left a Hampshire man with serious head injuries.
The 26-year-old was found with serious head injuries on Smugglers Lane, Monkwood, near Alresford, on Saturday evening.
He was found lying in the road around 9.45pm and was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
The incident was being investigated as a potential road traffic collision, but officers are keeping an open mind into the causes and would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who can help with their enquiries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roads Policing unit at Havant police station on 101, quoting Operation Tide, or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
