THE flight path for aircraft travelling to TAG Farnborough Airport will be diverted south of Alresford, a meeting heard.
Cllr Margot Power said that the airport has assured residents and councillors that air traffic will be diverted over the South Downs National Park rather than the town, as originally planned.
She raised concerns about the amount of airspace the airport says it needs as part of its expansion proposal.
“The kindly soul would assume a need for resilience, a more cynical interpretation would be that they are positioning themselves to be a contender for London Airport Four,” she warned.
