AN Alresford pre-school hopes it has the makings of an ‘outstanding’ centre after a recent inspection.

Patchwork Day Nursery and Pre-School, based at Perins School in Pound Hill, has been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.

An inspection in 2012 said it required improvement.

Following the visit in February this year the report said staff interaction and effective teaching techniques ensure all children continue to make good progress, partnership with parents is strong and rigorous safeguarding practices are in place.

It also said development needs are recognised and the involvement of the school’s management team is beneficial in enabling it to move forward.

Pre-school manager Nicola Baxter said: “We are delighted with the outcome of the inspection and we would like to thank all our parents for their commitment to help us get to where we are today.

“All at Patchwork work incredibly hard to ensure exceptional care for all children. The team will continue to work hard to ensure that Patchwork’s successes will carry on into the future.”

The nursery looks after 39 children aged six months to five years old, both full and part time.
