Light pollution from new lamps in Alresford
COUNCILLORS have been campaigning for shields for bright street lamps in Alresford.
In The Soke the lights are so bright some residents are unable to use certain bedrooms, the town council heard.
Jackie Porter, prospective Winchester and Chandler’s Ford MP, said she met with SSE to discuss other options.
She said the company is looking for a “suitable alternative”, including shields.
The lights were installed as part of the county council’s £300,000 improvement plan.
