ALRESFORD councillors refused a grant application to help with the running of a local mini bus.
The town trust applied for an annual grant of £1250 from the town council.
It was rejected after Cllr Margot Power revealed the trust has up to £150,000 in reserves.
“They have a lot of money in the mini bus fund,” she said.
“I would rather this money goes elsewhere rather than to an already well-funded project.”
Councillors voted to reject the application, and Cllr Roy Gentry, who is also a member of the trust, abstained.
