THE chairman of a newly-formed residents group has appealed to town councillors for improved safety at an Alresford accident hotspot.
Sam Kerr-Smiley, of the Nursery Road Residents Group, said he would like to see railings, traffic lights or other safety measures at a bridge in Jacklyns Lane.
He said a Nursery Road resident was recently involved in a head-on crash there, and the group wants to “explore options”.
Cllr Margot Power said: “I think there's room for some type of traffic calming.”
Cllr Barbara Jeffs said she would like to see railings.
“The children do very stupid things on the way home,” she said.
“I don't like someone pretending to do a suicide in front of me as I drive under the bridge.”
