Debbie with former fellow news anchor Fred Dinenage
FORMER TV newsreader Debbie Thrower is to be appointed an honorary lay canon at Winchester Cathedral.
Debbie, who lives near Alresford and is a reader at an Alton church, is also to be made a member of the Cathedral Chapter in a Choral Evensong service this Sunday afternoon.
The Bishop of Winchester, the Right Rev Tim Dakin, will preside and preach.
Debbie became a Chaplain to Older People in Alton in 2010.
Debbie remains a part-time Anna Chaplain, as well as working for the national charity the Bible Reading Fellowship.
