THE annual torchlight procession and fireworks display in Alresford has raised £7,500 for charity.
An estimated 2,500-3,000 people walked from Broad Street down West Street and Pound Hill to Arlebury Park on Bonfire Night.
The event, organised by Alresford Rotary, raises money for good causes, local and international.
Rotary spokesman Peter Tudor said the attendance was up on last year and around 1,000 torches and flares were sold. “It is now in its 26th year and it gets bigger and better,” he said.
It was blessed on Wednesday evening with fine weather unlike Tuesday and last night, said Mr Tudor.
