WORK to revamp a recreation centre in Alresford has been approved by town councillors.

As part of the ongoing refurbishment to the recreation centre, at Alrebury Park, the lower meeting room will be transformed into a cellar for the bar.

Councillors say it will reduce wastage of beer and improve working conditions for staff.

A hatch is also going to be installed between the bar and upstairs meeting room.

The cost is around £10,000.

Meanwhile, Cllr Roy Gentry said that a plumber is going to investigate pressure issues with the showers. He said he wants a solution in place by October 24.
