A CAMPAIGNER will tonight share his visions for the future of Alresford.
Jeremy Collins, a property surveyor and property director at John Lewis nationwide, of Bishop’s Sutton, volunteered to work with Alresford Town Council and other professionals to develop an alternative option for plans for nearly 500 new homes.
He will speak during public participation of tonight’s town council meeting to update councillors on the its progress.
Today he said: “I will give them a very brief update of progress and plans for the way forward, which includes three public exhibitions in the coming three or four months so that we can really engage with the local community.
“I will also be advising the council this evening that we will be putting a request forward in October for a small amount of money to put on these exhibitions.”
The town is required to build 500 homes between 2011 and 2031 under Winchester City Council’s Local Plan Part One, with 386 yet to be allocated.
In July councillors controversially voted to support plans which would see them built to the east of the town, on land off Sun Lane.
The meeting starts at 7.30pm at the Alresford Recreation Centre at Alrebury Park.
