A BUSY road near Winchester was closed on Thursday after a combine harvester fell into a hedge.
The B3047 between Kings Worthy and Alresford closed to recover the machine at Itchenstoke.
It appeared to be resting in the hedge with one wheel off the main road.
Bill Witchard, a barman at Alrebury Park, Alresford, was driving to Salisbury and saw it happen.
He said: “The combine had pulled over to let a car pass and had fallen in to the hedge. The driver looked as though he was stuck and couldn’t open the door. He was lucky it didn’t go over.”
Hampshire County Council’s highways department said the road was closed from around 1pm until about 3pm and no one was hurt in the incident.
