A SOLUTION is in sight for a damaged footpath in Alresford.
Councillors at the full town council meeting on Thursday heard that emergency works can be carried out on the broken culvert in the Millennium Trail, next to the River Alre.
The path was closed by Hampshire County Council last month after a number of complaints.
After meeting with the county council and Environment Agency, Cllr Roy Gentry told the meeting works will be carried out on July 28.
He said: “We are going to put a large diameter plastic tube up the culvert, which will hopefully take 95 per cent of the water flow. If that works, we can then make it permanent.”
It is expected to cost up to £1,000.
