POWER to a village near Alresford should be more secure following a meeting.
Officials from Southern Electric Power Distribution met Northington Parish Council at MP Steve Brine’s office to thrash out a plan.
It covers preventative measures, compensation and future resilience after recent cuts, particularly over Christmas.
Mr Brine said: “A number of positive actions have been agreed, and I think John Mitchell and the rest of his team at Northington Parish Council were as happy as I was with SEPD’s fully cooperative and enthusiastic attitude to do what they could.”
Duncan MacDonald, from SEPD, said: “We’re committed to keeping the lights on, and the meetings we’ve had over the past few months have been a great way of sharing our plans to make the local network more resilient.”
John Mitchell, from the parish council, said: “It was good to meet SEPD under Steve Brine’s chairmanship. We look forward to working together with SEPD on a number of local community projects.”
