ON Saturday July 5 Alresford Community Choir and guests present Songs for Summer.

To celebrate the end of its second full season, the choir is presenting an evening of light music, mixing classical and romantic items with folk and pop.

There will be an interval with red and white wine, and soft drinks, and plenty of great company to enjoy the 20 minutes of social time.

The guest performers include: International mezzo-soprano, Amy Williamson, whose stunning portrayal of Dido in our double-bill of operas in April was so well received; Chris Pott a percussionist, from Winchester, who studied at Peter Symonds College and is now at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama; and Rose Gosney just seven years old, currently studying at a Hampshire infant school. Rose is being allowed to stay up to perform!

Tickets are available at 6 West in Alresford at £10 and £6. The show starts at 7.30pm in St John’s Church.
