RESIDENTS in Alresford have raised concerns about speeding motorists.
At the Alresford Town Council meeting, Ralph Pointer raised the issue of speeding on Sun Lane, and suggested a second speed camera.
“There needs to be a camera near Langtons Court and southbound somewhere near Sun Lane in both directions,” he said.
“South of the Langton Court Estate people come down the hill from the school, just before Nursery Road, and down the hill the other side, very quickly.”
Town council chairman, Lisa Griffiths, said: “It should become much more useful for the police to take data from the camera, and analyse.”
The problem has been ongoing, and speed cameras were introduced after police received complaints in 2011 about potentially dangerous driving in and around the town, and 300 people were caught flouting the limit.
