CHILDREN at Sun Hill Junior School in Alresford will receive some new equipment, aimed at the older school children, after discussions were held between the Town Council and Perins School.
A donation from Tichborne and other charitable local organisations means that children aged between 11-13 should receive the new kit, which has yet to be decided upon, between now and 2015.

NEW signs for heritage sites are to be installed in Alresford in the coming weeks.
The new black signs have been delivered and will be installed during April to improve directions for Old Alresford Pond, Riverside Walk routes, Arle Valley Trail and the Watercress Line.
They were first commissioned following on from residents’ comments in a survey carried out in 2012 but the town council has said are now only just being installed as it has taken time to source suitable signage for the conservation areas.

A NEW set of rugby pitches are to be developed at land in Alresford over the forthcoming year.
The Recreation Committee agreed to having the new playing fields built on newly acquired and leased land at the northern part of the recreation ground.
The recent spell of bad weather meant these works have been delayed but the Town Council has confirmed they hope to have them completed by the end of 2014.

THE Giles Group are preparing for a presentation from a member of the Flower Club next month.
Barbara Hudson is to be a guest at the community centre in Alresford on Monday April 14 at 2pm. There will be the usual draw and refreshments for the disabled as well as their carers, friends and families.
The drop-in club meets every Tuesday morning in the centre between 10.30am to 12pm for a chat and a cup of tea.

MEMBERS of Alresford churches are to present their own rendition of Easter story.
On Good Friday (April 18), Alresford’s very own Passion Play will be performed on Broad Street from 11-11.40am, depicting a modern-day adaptation of the events from Palm Sunday to Good Friday.
With Jesus played by a man in jeans and soldiers sporting combat gear, this play promises to deliver a 21st century slant on a 2,000-year-old story with a mixture of song, dance, mime and drama.
