ALRESFORD Town Council has agreed to support work that will improve safety for pedestrians at the town's busiest junction.
Councillors last night backed county council proposals for the Pound Hill-The Dean-West Street-Jacklyns Lane crossroads.
The work will include widening the pavement outside the Shapla restaurant, planting of five trees outside the Co-op, and four on-street parking spaces to replace the current pull-in that stems back to when the site was the Hankin’s Garage and petrol station.
The work should be done within the 2014-15 financial year.
