WINCHESTER Business Improvement District is appealing for volunteers to lead one of its projects.
The BID’s Shopwatch scheme needs a chairman and vice chairman to take it forward.
The project allows police and retailers to warn each other of suspicious people via walkie-talkies.
Marketing manager Amy McCartan, who is currently standing in as chairman, said: “At the moment I’m standing in but we need a local business member as chair to ensure we have total transparency in Shopwatch.
“All it involves is leading a meeting once a month and liaising with police and BID crime reduction manager Emma Shotter.”
Members of Shopwatch can put their name forward by contacting Ms Shotter at shopwatch@winchesterbid.co.uk or call 01962 841000 by November 27.
